Azerbaijan names value of 7M2021 transactions on state securities at Baku Stock Exchange

The total value of transactions in state securities at the Baku Stock Exchange (BSE) exceeded 5.5 billion manat ($3.2 billion) and their number was 1,486 in the first seven months of 2021, Trend reports on July 7 referring to the report of the BSE.

According to the report, 1,016 transactions worth almost 4.8 billion manat or $2.8 billion (86.6 percent of the total volume of transactions in state securities) were made in the primary market, of which about 75.1 percent (603 transactions) accounted for short-term notes of the Central Bank of Azerbaijan (CBA) worth 3.6 billion manat ($2.1 billion). Some 413 deals worth over 1.19 billion manat ($700 million) accounted for bonds of the Azerbaijani Ministry of Finance.

Besides, 470 transactions worth 738.12 million manat ($392.8 million) accounted for the secondary market of state securities. The share was 13.4 percent of the total number of transactions in state securities.

The value of REPO transactions on state bonds exceeded 3.5 billion manat or $2.06 billion (2,223 transactions). In general, the value of REPO transactions carried out in the capital market from January through July 2021 is estimated at 3.7 billion manat ($2.1 billion).

The capitalization of the BSE on the last trading day of July 2021 reached 4.3 billion manat ($2.5 billion), having grown by 11 percent since the beginning of the year.
