The international reserves of the National Bank of Georgia (NBG) decreased by $45.7 million as of July 31, 2021, compared to June and amounted to $3.87 billion, Trend reports via the NBG.

In June, the international reserves of the National Bank of Georgia decreased by $17.2 million. At the same time, at the end of May, they reached a historic high of $4.15 billion.

According to the regulator, the reduction in international reserves was mainly due to swap transactions with banks and government spending.

International reserves converted into foreign currency are the main part of the reserves of the National Bank of Georgia.

The National Bank does not store funds in gold.
