The main part (58.3 percent) of the loan portfolio of Azerbaijani banks accounted for business loans from January through July 2021, Trend reports with reference to the financial report of the Central Bank of Azerbaijan (CBA).
According to the CBA, this indicator exceeded 8.7 billion manat ($5.1 billion), up by 1.2 percent on annual basis.
In the first seven months of this year, consumer loans accounted for 26.9 percent of banks' loan portfolio (4 billion manat or $2.3 billion) while mortgage loans - 14.8 percent (2.2 billion manat or $1.3 billion).
Overall, the total loan portfolio of Azerbaijani banks exceeded 14.9 billion manat ($8.7 billion) as of early August, while a year earlier this figure was 14.2 billion manat ($8.3 billion). Thus, the total loan portfolio of banks increased by 762 million manat ($448.2 million) or 5.4 percent on annual basis.
The total profit in the Azerbaijani banking sector amounted to 408.9 million manat ($240.5 million) from January through July 2021.
