Central Bank of Iran unveils amount of loans issued for agricultural sector

Iranian banks issued loans worth 620 trillion rials (about $14.8 billion) in the agricultural sector of the country, during the first five months of the current Iranian year (from March 21 through August 22, 2021), Trend reports citing the statistics of the Central Bank of Iran (CBI).

According to the statistics, about 113 trillion rials (about $2.7 billion) worth of loans was issued for the establishment of enterprises and the planting of gardens, and arable lands in the agricultural sector.

In addition, 441 trillion rials (about $8.03 billion) worth of loans was issued as working capital in the agricultural sector.

"The loans worth 2.81 trillion rials (about $66.9 million) were issued for repair work in the agricultural sector of Iran within the five months," the statistics said.

According to the statistics, at the same time, 39.6 trillion rials (about $942 million) worth of loans was issued for the development of Iran's agricultural sector.

Moreover, 5.19 trillion rials (about $123 million) worth of loans were issued for the purchase of personal assets in the agricultural sector, 565 billion rials (about 13.4 million) for the purchase of housing, and 17.2 trillion rials (about $411 million) for other purposes.

As reported, the Iranian banks issued loans worth about 9 quadrillion rials (about $214 billion) in various economic sectors in the first four months of the current Iranian year. This figure stood at 3.05 quadrillion rials (about $72.7 billion) in the same period last Iranian year.
