Iran sees decrease in unemployment rate in Tehran

TEHRAN, Iran, Sep. 18

In Iran's capital city Tehran, the unemployment rate fell marginally in first six months of the current Iranian year (started on March 21) by 2.5 percent compared to the last winter, the governor of Tehran said, Trend reports citing ISNA.

“According to on performance statistics of the governorates of the country, Tehran governorate has been among top three provinces in employment rate,” Tehran Governor Anoushirvan Mohseni Bandpei said.

He noted that the most important principle in maintaining employment and creating new job is to remove barriers to production.

According to the statistical center of Iran, the unemployment rate in Tehran province in the first six months of the current year fell to 6.3 percent, which means the decrease in unemployment rate compared to last winter.

Mohseni Bandpei went on to note the providing of infrastructure for industrial towns as a way for job creation.
