Central Bank of Iran announces amount of loans issued in housing, construction sector

Banks in Iran issued loans worth 627 trillion rials (about $14.9 billion) in the housing and construction sector in Iran, during the first six months of the current Iranian year (from March 21 through September 22, 2021), Trend reports citing the statistics of the Central Bank of Iran (CBI).

According to statistics, about 129 trillion rials (about $3.06 billion) worth of loans was issued for construction work in the housing and construction sector within the first five months.

In addition, Iranian banks issued loans worth 213 trillion rials (about $5.08 billion) as working capital in this sector.

Over the reporting period, 116 trillion rials (about $2.77 billion) worth of loans was issued for repair work and 51.3 trillion rials (about $1.22 billion) for development work in the housing and construction sector.

Furthermore, Iranian banks issued loans worth 98 billion rials (about $2.33 million) for the purchase of personal assets in the housing and construction sector, 112 trillion rials (about $2.68 billion) for the purchase of housing, and 4.95 trillion rials (about $118 million) for other purposes.

As reported, the Iranian banks issued loans worth about 12.4 quadrillion rials (about $295 billion) in various economic sectors in the first six months of the current Iranian year. This figure stood at 4.55 quadrillion rials (about $108 billion) in the same period last Iranian year.
