The Central Bank of Iran (CBI) will test using cryptocurrency for international transactions, Deputy Director of the CBI for innovative technologies Mehran Moharramian told IBENA, Trend reports.
He said the Iranian Cabinet of Ministers has made a decision to start using cryptocurrency in Iran's trade, especially in the import of goods. Under the decision, its execution rules are regulated.
Moharramian added that as a result of cooperation between the CBI and Iranian Ministry of Industry, Mines and Trade, the details of the use of cryptocurrency have been prepared. The main goal is for the country's businessmen to face minimal barriers when using domestic cryptocurrency to import goods.
The official emphasized that all citizens will be able to use cryptocurrency in Iran.
