BAKU, Azerbaijan, March 30. Russia intends to expand banking cooperation with Azerbaijan in national currencies, Russian Ambassador Mikhail Bocharnikov said at a press conference, Trend reports.
"Difficulties with payment are associated with a change in the ruble exchange rate, and the transition to payments in national currencies will help resolve this issue," Bocharnikov said.
According to him, the expansion of banking cooperation in national currencies in line with the declaration [on allied cooperation between Russia and Azerbaijan dated February 22, 2022] will also contribute to solving the mentioned problem, and positive steps in this direction have been already taken.
In March this year, a delegation of the Russian customs service visited Azerbaijan, and during the visit, a pilot project was presented to simplify the customs corridor for participants in foreign economic activity, reminded the diplomat.
