BAKU, Azerbaijan, April 18. The number of registered cars in Kazakhstan amounted to 143,741 vehicles over the period from January 2022 through February 2022, which is 6.7 percent less than during the same period of 2021, Trend reports with reference to Kazakhstan’s Statistics Committee.

As of March 1, 2022, the total number of passenger cars registered in Kazakhstan amounted to 3.8 million.

The committee noted that 85.8 percent of registered cars work on gasoline. Some 12.2 percent of the cars operate on mixed fuel, 1.9 percent on diesel fuel, and 0.1 percent on LPG.

The number of registered car accidents amounted to 1,801 cases, which is 1.9 percent more than during the same period of 2021. Some 2,693 people were injured in these accidents.

As of March 1, 2022, insurance companies made 13,431 payments worth 6.6 billion tenge (approximately $14.6 million) on Compulsory Civil Liability Insurance of Vehicle Owners.
