BAKU, Azerbaijan, June 10. The balance of payments of Azerbaijan amounted to $1.5 billion from January through March 2022, which is 4.8 times higher than in the same period last year, Trend reports citing the Central Bank (CBA) report.
The total surplus was generated by a current bank account surplus of $3.9 billion (annual growth of $6.3 million), a capital bank account deficit of $0.3 million, deficit of $1.1 billion in financial account, balance sheet deficit of $1.1 billion.
Current bank account surplus increased by $3.3 billion from January through March 2022 compared to period from January through March last year, or 6.2 times - from $627.7 million to $3.952 billion (22.4 percent of Azerbaijan’s GDP).
