BAKU, Azerbaijan, May 23. The Iranian banks issued loans worth 1.61 quadrillion rials (about $38.4 billion) in various economic sectors in the country, during the 1st month of the current Iranian year (March 21 through April 20, 2023) Trend reports via the statistics of the Central Bank of Iran (CBI).
"So, the banks issued approximately 36.4 trillion rials (about $866 million) worth of loans in the agricultural sector within the mentioned month," the statistics said.
Also, the banks issued loans worth 603 trillion rials (about $14.3 billion) in Iran's industrial and mining sectors over the first month.
According to the statistics, the banks provided loans worth 85.2 trillion rials (about $2.03 billion) in Iran's housing and construction sector during the reporting month.
Furthermore, the Iranian banks issued loans worth approximately 188 trillion rials (about $4.47 billion) in the trade sector within the 1st month.
At the same time, about 702 trillion rials (about $16.7 billion) worth of loans were issued in the services sector and 116 billion rials (about $2.76 million) in other unmentioned areas for the first month, the statistics said.
As reported, the loans are provided for the establishment of enterprises and facilities, such as working capital, repair work, development, purchase of personal assets, purchase of apartments, and so on.
