Iran unveils amount of loans provided in key economic sectors

BAKU, Azerbaijan, July 31. The Iranian banks issued loans worth approximately 7.85 quadrillion rials (about $187 billion) in various economic sectors in the country, during the first three months of the current Iranian year (March 21 through June 21, 2023), Trend reports.

During the specified time, banks granted 330 trillion rials (about $7.87 billion) in agricultural loans.

In addition, for three months, banks gave loans totaling 3.06 quadrillion rials (about $73 billion) to Iran's industrial and mining sectors.

Banks lent around 433 trillion rials (about $10.3 billion) in Iran's housing and construction sector over a three-month period.

Furthermore, throughout the reporting period, Iranian banks made loans in the commerce sector totaling around 850 trillion rials (about $20.2 billion).

At the same time, approximately 3.17 quadrillion rials (about $75.4 billion) worth of loans were issued in the services sector and 1.53 trillion rials (about $36.6 million) in other unmentioned areas for 3 months.

As reported, the loans are provided for the establishment of enterprises and facilities, such as working capital, repair work, development, purchase of personal assets, purchase of apartments, and so on.
