ASHGABAT, Turkmenistan, January 25. The volume of non-cash payments through terminals in Turkmenistan from January through November last year amounted to 14.19 billion Turkmen manat ($4.05 billion), Trend reports.
Data from the Central Bank of Turkmenistan show that these figures represent an increase of 17.4 percent compared to the same period in 2022, which amounted to 12.08 billion Turkmen manat ($3.45 billion).
The total amount of non-cash payments made through ATMs was 346.7 million Turkmen manat ($99 million), a 40.8 percent increase over the first eleven months of 2022 (246.2 million Turkmen manat or $70.3 million).
Simultaneously, the total volume of non-cash payments through terminals in Turkmenistan in 2022 was 13.8 billion Turkmen manat ($3.93 billion), a 27.6 percent increase over the previous year (10.81 billion Turkmen manat or $3.08 billion).
Meanwhile, Turkmenistan's financial sector is undergoing steady growth. Notably, there has been a notable introduction of mobile applications for diverse service and product payments, leading to a rise in electronic transaction volumes. Additionally, the settlement process for goods and services is being streamlined through the integration of banking terminals.
