According to the Central Bank of Turkmenistan, these figures are 7.2 percent more than in the same month of 2023, which amounted to 5.26 million units.
The top 3 places in terms of issued maps include Ashgabat city with 1.89 million units, followed by Mary (1.01 million) and Lebap (934,070) regions.
Dayhanbank State Commercial Bank issued the most cards (1.99 million), followed by Turkmenistan State Commercial Bank (more than 1.1 million) and Halkbank Joint-Stock Commercial Bank (675,118 cards).
In addition, over the past four years, the number of bank cards issued in circulation has increased in Turkmenistan.
Meanwhile, by the end of 2023, the total number of bank cards issued in Turkmenistan reached 5.56 million, which is 7.5 percent more than the 5.17 million registered at the end of 2022.
