BAKU, Azerbaijan, November 11. Events and meetings with officials from international organizations and different countries will be held within COP29 with the organization and partnership of the Ministry of Economy on various issues, Trend reports.
The Ministry of Economy, together with the World Economic Forum, will organize a high-level session on "The Power of Cooperation: Joining Efforts to Achieve Net Zero" on November 13, within the framework of the Summit of World Leaders on Combating Climate Change.
The Climate Platform for Business, Investment, and Philanthropy will organize a series of events and discussions on climate finance and strategic partnerships.
Climate FIT Day, jointly organized by the Ministry of Economy and the World Trade Organization (WTO), will be held on 14 November, where the Baku Initiative on Climate Finance, Investment and Trade (BICFIT) will be presented.
COP29 will host the event “Strengthening a Sustainable Future: Stimulating Green Growth through Finance”, and the Climate Finance Action Fund (CFAF) will be presented.
Also, there will be events Partnership with CAREC on Climate, Innovation, and Trade, "Organization of Turkic States Partnership on Climate, Innovation, Green Economy and Trade", and SPECA Dialogue Ministerial Meetings on Climate and Innovation.
On November 15, the Day of Energy, Peace, Relief, and Recovery, within the framework of cooperation between the Ministry of Economy and the Center for International Development "Growth Lab" of Harvard University, the presentation of the global portal "Green Growth" will be held, and there will also be events on "Carbon pricing: current challenges and new strategies", "Development of sustainable finance and climate resilience strategies through public-private partnership projects and the role of the private sector in addressing climate issues".
On November 16, Science, Technology and Innovation-Digitalization Day, the conference “The Role of SMEs in the Green Economy” and the events “The Transformative Power of Artificial Intelligence: Reducing Environmental Impact and Sustainable Development”, “The Impact of Artificial Intelligence: A New Era of Governance in the Digital Economy with a Technology Forecast”, etc. will be held.
On November 20, the Day of Urbanization, Transport, and Tourism, a roundtable of EBRD green city leaders from the SPECA region is scheduled, and a briefing on the SPECA Multilateral Trust Fund is also planned.
In the framework of COP 29, the Ministry of Economy and bodies
under the Ministry are planning to sign documents with the Islamic
Development Bank, the International Trade Center, and several
foreign companies.
Furthermore, the Ministry of Economy will hold a number of meetings
with representatives of international organizations and officials
of different countries.
