Azerbaijan, Baku, Dec. 19 / Trend / Starting from December 19, Azercell subscribers will be able to use their cell phones in every corner of Baku Subway system. This date will be marked by all subway stations put entirely under Azercell's coverage area.
Back in 2000, when Azercell has started to extend its coverage area to all Baku Subway stations for the first time in Azerbaijan, its subscribers got the possibility to have phone talk standing on the waiting platform of subway stations. Gradually, escalators had been also entered its coverage area of the mobile operator.
However, offering fully comfortable and high quality mobile communication services to its subscribers, Azercell has not limited its activities in this field and managed to extend its coverage area not only on waiting platforms and escalators, but also in entrance and exit points of subway stations, including all tunnels long in the result of the project implemented this year.
Following start-up of its activities in 1996, Azercell Telecom LLC has implemented various projects aimed at improving quality of mobile communication. During this period of time, 99% of population and almost 80% of national territory (excluding the occupied regions) are covered by Azercell.
Azercell Telecom LLC has increased the number of its radio base stations across the country and in near future it will install its 1500th base station.
