Delta Telecom, the only supplier of global network access for Azerbaijani providers, intends to cut prices for the international Internet channel thrice from July, the company head Ramazan Veliyev said on May 30.
"We plan to reduce price for 1 megabit channel to 100 manat," Veliyev said.
Presently, cost of each megabit international channel hits 275 manat free of VAT after the last reduction in February 2009, he said.
"Presently, we work over solving of technical issues for possible upcoming reduction of prices," head of the company said.
Delta Telecom has reduced tariffs twice since February 2009. Providers paid operator 550 manat for one megabit channel. Cost of the channel hit $1,100 two years ago.
Delta Teleсom is one of the leading communication operators of Azerbaijan. It has the biggest Backbone network in the region. All Azerbaijani Internet providers and 78 percent of Georgian providers are provided via this network with professional services of İP Backbone.
