Azerbaijani internet provider Smart Systems cuts tariffs on broadband Internet

Azerbaijan, Baku, Sept.10. / Trend H.Valiyev /

Smart Systems Company has cut tariffs on connection to the Internet via ADSL technology, the company's Director of Administrative Department, Subhan Garagozov, told Trend .

At present, under the new tariffs of Smart Systems, monthly cost of ADSL access with bandwidth of 128 kbit /s is 5 manat, 512 kbit /s - 12 manat, 1024 Kbit /s - 20 manat and 2,048 kbit /s - 48 manat.

Delta Telecom virtually tripled the capacity of the channel, allowing Smart Systems to reduce prices thrice on ADSL services, providing users with more favorable prices.

Reduction of tariffs on Internet services is firstly connected with the recent decline in rates for providers of the Internet services by the primary provider of Delta Telecom.

The growing competition on the broadband market played an important role in cutting prices. The chosen strategy of competition causes the gradual unification of tariff plans. On the Baku market, there are about thirty players, offering broadband access to the Internet. ADSL technology is the most popular form of Internet access, which is developing rapidly and starts to push traditional Dial up access.

Initially, Smart Systems' services were targeted at corporate users, regarding which the company's portfolio does not introduce Dial up access. The company's ADSL service has recently been presented and currently the subscriber base numbers about 200 users.
