Microsoft Office in Azerbaijan begins to implement Microsoft IT Academy's program, Microsoft Azerbaijan office head Teymur Akhundov told Trend.
He said that today a number of universities that satisfy those requirements applied within Microsoft initiative has been chosen.
"IT Academy project is very interesting for us because this is the real mechanism and a chance for students to learn modern technologies. But the organization, which wants to become IT Academy within this project, must fulfill a certain number of requirements. Microsoft wants this training to be held at the highest level", Akhundov said.
The program, which will be implemented jointly with the Ministry of Education, is designed for higher education institutions and secondary schools. It envisages training of students to pass Microsoft certified exams. Each student will get diploma on passing certified examinations to get certificates of world level.
Initially, Microsoft IT Academy Program is planned to be implemented in the school named after Zarifa Aliyeva, the school No 7, the European Lycee, as well as at the Technical University and Baku State University.
Two levels of participation - Microsoft Office Specialist and IT Professional are proposed within Microsoft IT Academy program for educational institutions. Basic vocational training in such subjects as: technical support for desktop and laptop personal computers, administration of computer systems, networks and databases, development of applications and databases in different spheres are proposed at the level of IT Professional. Microsoft Office Specialist is provided for secondary schools.
