The U.S. company Emerson Process Management plans to use wireless solutions in the production process in the oil and gas industry of Azerbaijan, the Communications and IT Ministry said.
The issue was discussed during the meeting between Azerbaijani Minister of Communications and Information Technologies Ali Abbasov, Emerson vice-president for Europe Bob Sharp and vice-president for CIS Johan Vanderplaetse.
According to the ministry, the company plans to lease the necessary frequency resources to deploy their wireless systems.
The company also considers the use of wireless solutions in the sewer system in the field of navigation and water supply. Using of wireless networks for monitoring processes will increase the amount of collected information for more effective management. Today, Emerson Process Management cooperates with SOCAR and BP in Azerbaijan.
Smart Wireless solutions offered by the company allow to get access to information at the enterprise. The customer will have an opportunity to add new points of measurement, where it was hard to do earlier or require too much money to connect it.
Smart Wireless solutions provide the opportunity for direct connection of measuring devices in a wireless network to receive the information via a wireless gateway.
Each sensor is equipped with its own antenna and an autonomous power source to maintain efficiency for a long time. The technology was developed specifically for use in the field of process automation, based on the experience of Emerson Process Management in this area.
Smart Wireless solutions operate in the frequency range 2,4 GHz. They safely coexist with other wireless networks established in the enterprise.
Devices in wireless networks use encryption, authentication, verification, protection from interference and control keys to ensure sending of the data only through a wireless gateway.
Today, Emerson Process Management's activity is aimed at further expanding its presence in Azerbaijan. During a meeting with Minister, the company's management has expressed its plans to open a representative office in Azerbaijan. The company thinks that such priorities of economic development, as innovation and modernization of production, make Emerson technologies and products to be in demand.
