Azerbaijani mobile operator pushes 3G services in retail outlets

Azerbaijani mobile operator LLC Azerfon began to promote 3G mobile services in its retail outlets, the company has said.

The company has signed an agreement with DNS Computers to promote brand Azerfon-Vodafone in its chain of shops.

DNS Computers has more than 15 outlets in the Azerbaijani capital Baku.

According to the contract signed with Azerfon, DNS Computers will act as an official partner with the right to sell certain Azerfon-Vodafone products.

The main activity of the partnership will be to promote 3G-services, namely a 3G + modem which will be offered along with portable computers, in a six-month connection package with prepaid traffic of 1Gb a month.

Azerfon's data transmission speed in 3G network is 7.2 Mbps. It provides multimedia content, high-speed Internet access, e-mail and the ability to exchange file applications. Users of the 3G network using cell phones that support the standard can receive and transmit large amounts of data and video.
