An electronic document circulation system will be introduced at the Presidium of the Azerbaijani National Academy of Sciences (ANAS), ANAS President Akif Alizadeh told journalists on Nov. 22.
According to Alizadeh, it is also envisaged to create the necessary environment for the use of an electronic-digital signature (EDS). Work in this direction is at the final stage, the ANAS president said.
The AzsienceNet computer science network established at ANAS today covers 13 structural units. Network expansion work is underway and will cover all ANAS institutes.
According to Alizadeh, the ANAS attaches special attention to the use of ICT. The ANAS president said that it is planned to create an innovation foundation at its presidium and that ANAS intends to address the country's government with this regard.
"Through this foundation we will able to solve innovation problems and also cooperate in this area with the High-Tech Park of Azerbaijan. We also envisage holding a republican conference on December 6 jointly with the Azerbaijani Ministry of Communications and Information Technologies," Alizadeh said.
