By Huseyn Veliyev - Trend:

Azerbaijani iQRex company will use blockchain technology to combat counterfeit goods, one of the company's founders Jalal Rahimov told Trend Sept. 19.

The iQRex company has the status of a resident of the "High Technology Park" of the Ministry of Transport, Communications and High Technologies of Azerbaijan.

Rahimov noted that it will be possible to identify the authenticity of goods purchased in the retail network, using the iQRex software.

"The software has already been developed and within the next two weeks, the consumers will be able to download it in the stores of Android Play Market and IPhone App Store applications. In addition, the manufacturers themselves will be offered special software, by using which they will be able to order a unique code protected by a scratch layer. Due to the fact that the control system uses blockchain technology, each printed code is unique. That is, it is impossible to re-print it without the permission of the manufacturer," Rahimov said.

The manufacturer can mark with such stickers its products which will be delivered to the stores, Rahimov said.

The consumer, in turn, can verify the genuineness of the purchased product by scanning the security code through iQRex.

"Having made certain of the authenticity of the purchased goods, a consumer will be able to earn bonuses from the manufacturer. If the product is counterfeit, the consumer can file a complaint, which will be automatically reflected in the manufacturer's system. Among other things, the manufacturer will also be able to receive other statistical information. For example, where most of the products are sold, title of the product, where most of the counterfeit goods were detected, etc. According to the current legislation, the consumer has the full right to return the purchased goods if they are not genuine," Rahimov said.
