Baku telecom operator invests in LTE expansion

Baku Telephone Communications LLC will invest more than 342,000 manats in expanding the wireless broadband internet network, a source familiar with the matter told Trend.

The funds will be spent to purchase LTE equipment, and the Turkish company Javelli Logistic Ic Ve Dis Ticaret Limited was selected as a supplier.

A contract with the company was signed on Oct. 23, 2018.

Currently, the operator’s LTE network covers the settlements of Bilajari, Zira, Turkan, Mashtaga, Nardaran, Mardakan, Shuvalan, Bilgah, Albalilig, Bina, Hovsan, Yeni Ramani, Yeni Surakhani, Sabunchu, Zabrat, Gala, Buzovna, Pirshaghi, Binaghadi, Garadag, Badamdar, Garachukhur, Rasulzade, Ahmadli, Hazi Aslanov, and Vorovski residential area.

In order to connect to the LTE network, customers should purchase equipment, which costs 230 manats, as well as an additional router.

Individual users are offered three types of tariff plans - Start, Komfort and Optima - the costs of which depend on the connection speed (2.5 and 10 megabits per second) and amount to 10, 15 and 25 manats.

For corporate users, there are two tariff plans at a cost of 40 and 60 manats with speeds of 5 and 10 megabits per second, respectively.
