Telecommunication operators' income increases in Kazakhstan

The income of telecom operators of Kazakhstan amounted to 382.9 billion tenge during 1H2019, which is 1.7 percent more than during the same period of last year, Trend reports with reference to LS news agency.

“Furthermore, in June 2019 the number of phone fixed lines users amounted to 3.3 million, of mobile phones users up to 25.7 million, of those with access to the internet to nearly 14.6 million, users of fixed internet to over 2.5 million,” the report said.

“Notwithstanding the income increase, only 18.6 billion tenge of the income accounts for local mobile phone services, which is 7.3 percent less than during the same period of last year. The decrease of income by 5.2 percent is also observed on mobile phone services (105.2 billion tenge of income). In turn, the value of income from providing access to the internet amounted to 136.9 billion tenge, which is 11.7 percent more than last year,” the statement said.

“The largest percentage in the total volume of services accounts for broadband internet (35.8 percent) and mobile communications (27.6 percent). Other telecommunication services accounted for 17.9 percent of the income, the work of local mobile communication amounted to 4.9 percent, of services for distributing programs via cable infrastructure and wireless communication equaled to 4.6 percent,” the report said.
