Azerbaijan's first national road navigation system, named AzNav, has been launched, a source at AzNav Company LLC told Trend.
According to the source, at present, the number of the system's users is about 270,000. Of these, about 246,000 are connected from phones supporting the iOS operating system, and the rest - Android operating system.
Users can download AzNav for free from all types of mobile devices of the operating systems iOS (Apple), Windows CE, as well as from other phones and tablets. At the same time, users can work offline without spending internet data, which allows them to save money, said the source.
An accurate and constantly updated GPS navigation system is developed on the basis of data from the AzNav registry information system. The system works using data from a navigation map developed on the basis of new and old addresses. One of the main advantages of AzNav is regular updates.
"AzNav simplifies the search of addresses for tourists and foreign citizens visiting the country. So, if a visitor does not know the exact address of the place where he needs to get, he can simply find the desired landmark by writing the name of the facility. Addresses, facilities and routes are automatically stored in the program memory. Map display in three-dimensional mode (3D) allows to display buildings in 3D. Along with Azerbaijani, AzNav supports Russian, English, Arabic, German, Spanish, French, Italian, Turkish and Georgian, users can safely work with the system in your their languages," the source said.
According to the source, AzNav greatly simplifies the work of companies involved in the transport of mail, goods, as well as providing taxi and ambulance services. The system provides quick and convenient solution to issues of address search, the shortest route in the capital and regions.
Drivers can drive in compliance with traffic rules thanks to the system. The navigation program reports the maximum permitted speed on the road, radars, turning points, parking lots, gas stations when driving along a selected route.
