President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov announced at a government meeting that $10 million had been allocated for the organization of IP centers (centers to be used for issues related to protection of creative and innovative products through legal channels) in Ashgabat and the country's regions, Trend reports with reference to the Altyn Asyr TV channel.
The head of state emphasized that a lot of work is being done in the country to digitalize the economy.
The Concept for the Development of the Digital Economy, developed for the period until 2025, has been implemented in Turkmenistan since early 2019.
The document is a "road map" of technological transformation of all sectors and state governance, the formation of the economy based on the resource and production potential of the country.
The concept is aimed at increasing business and investment activity, implementing advanced methods of public administration, creating new jobs.
Turkmenistan stimulates the development of telemedicine, online education, distance learning and e-government tools. Digitization of economic, production, and management processes will allow the creation of smart cities.
