BAKU, Azerbaijan, Aug. 18
By Eldar Janashvili – Trend:
The State Customs Committee of Azerbaijan will increase the number of electronic services and take important steps to support the start-up activities, Head of the General Department of Technological Innovation and Statistics of the State Customs Committee (SCC) Tamkin Khalilov said, Trend reports.
“In order to further expand the use of information technologies in the customs operations, complex work is being carried out, new projects and applications are being developed. The main objectives are to improve the quality of services, and ensure the comfort of citizens,” said Khalilov.
The department head noted that the committee’s experts are conducting work on the creation of a single portal for all electronic services, which are provided by the SCC.
The SCC provides 18 services through two electronic portals - https://www.e-gov.az/en and c2b.customs.gov.az.
“After the SCC’s portal starts functioning, all services will be available from a single space in order to ensure the convenience of users. In addition, it is planned to increase the number of electronic services to 33. The new portal covers electronic services for individuals, participants in Foreign Economic Activity (FEA), banks and shipping companies,” said Khalilov.
“The creation of the new portal is also an important step towards the goals set by the head of state for supporting the innovative development, including start-up activities. Thus, the new portal will include a set of electronic solutions to support startups," he added.
Khalilov went on to say: "To support start-up projects, the ‘open data’ section is provided in the portal, where, through the Application Programming Interface (API), startups or enterprises will be able to directly integrate the e-services of the SCC into their electronic resources. The portal is also integrated into the ‘ASAN Login’ system.”
“One more innovation will be related to the implementation of the Smart Customs mobile application. An electronic service on receiving a document for declaring goods and vehicles moved by individuals across the customs border of Azerbaijan will be added to the Smart Customs mobile application. Thus, through the application, the declaration of goods imported into the country by individuals and by the customs authority will be ensured,” he added.
