Turkmenistan, Russia aim to develop co-op in field of digital communication, information

Turkmenistan and Russia are considering technology and digital systems transfer opportunities, Trend reports with reference to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan.

The reviews were held on November 25, 2020, during a videoconference, the report says.

Turkmenistan discussed the possibilities of bilateral cooperation in the field of technology transfer and digital systems in order to develop the bilateral trade and economic potential of the countries.

The parties noted a high level of trade and economic cooperation between Turkmenistan and Russia. Current and prospective projects with the participation of both sides were discussed.

During the talks, the parties exchanged views on the development of cooperation in priority areas of cooperation, in particular in the field of digital communication and information.

From both sides, a videoconference was attended by representatives of the Chamber of Commerce, while the Turkmen side was also represented by members of the Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs, as well as the Türkmenaragatnaşyk Agency, and the Russian side was also represented by Skolkovo Foundation.

As was reported earlier, the trade turnover between Turkmenistan and Russia increased by 2.7 times during 1H2020, compared to the same period of 2019.

The trade turnover between countries amounted to $1 billion million in 2019.
