Azerbaijan's AzStateNet network records less blocked malware attacks

The number of blocked malware attacks in the Azerbaijani AzStateNet network amounted to 4,233 in November 2020, decreasing by almost 6.8 percent compared to the previous month, Trend reports citing the report of the Computer Emergency Response Team (CERT) under the State Agency for Special Communications and Information Security of the Special State Protection Service of Azerbaijan.

At the same time, the number malware attacks blocked based on URL addresses was 1,543, by the Centralized Antivirus System (CAS) – roughly 1,203, and by the so-called ‘sandbox’ (a specially isolated environment for the safe execution of computer programs) – 1,487, the report said.

According to the report, in the AzStateNet network, following the results of the past 11 months of 2020, the number of malware attacks blocked on the basis of URL addresses amounted to more than 26,051, by CAS - about 28,662, and by the CAS ‘sandbox’ – nearly 17,287 malicious URLs.

At the end of 2019, the number of blocked malware attacks in Azerbaijan based on URL addresses in AzStateNet amounted to more than 40,000, CAS - about 28,371, and the CAS sandbox - about 700 malicious URL addresses.
