The stock market capitalization amounted to 28.9 trillion tenge ($67.4 billion) in Kazakhstan as of Oct. 1, 2021, Trend reports with reference to the Agency of the Republic of Kazakhstan for Regulation and Development of Financial Market.

Thus, the stock market capitalization increased in September 2021 by 1.8 percent or 533.5 billion tenge $1.2 million (an increase by 51.9 percent since the beginning of 2021).

The growth in the volume of trading in shares in September 2021 was mainly connected with the decision of Kazakhtelecom JSC to sell 24 percent of shares in Kcell JSC.

There were 137 shares of 122 issuers in the trade lists of Kazakhstan Stock Exchange JSC (KASE) as of Oct. 1, 2021, of which four issues were circulated in the sector of unlisted securities.

The decrease in the volume of bonds in circulation has been connected with the exclusion of a number of corporate bond issues from the official list of the stock exchange.

There were 312 issues of corporate bonds of 74 issuers in the trade lists of KASE as of Oct. 1, 2021.

The volume of trades in corporate bonds on KASE compared to the previous month decreased by 1.6 percent or by 3.1 billion tenge ($7.2 million) and amounted to 191.7 billion tenge ($446.8 million) due to a decrease in the share of transactions in the secondary market compared to the previous month.
