BAKU, Azerbaijan, October 28. Azerbaijan will host a working group meeting on the development of 5G strategy at the end of October, Trend reports.

Several meetings of the working group on the development of 5G strategy were held earlier in Azerbaijan under the leadership of the Information and Communication Technologies Agency (ICTA).

Training sessions are planned within the EU4Digital initiative in November 2023 to improve the process of 5G strategy development and study international experience in this direction.

Azerbaijan plans to switch to the European standard of terrestrial digital television of the second generation from the group of DVB standards.

According to the Broadcasting and Satellite Communications Production Association of Azerbaijan, radio and television broadcasting in Azerbaijan is carried out on the basis of internationally accepted standards, as well as the decisions and recommendations of the International Telecommunication Union and the Regional Commonwealth for Communications. As a result of the transition to the DVB-T2 standard, broadcasting in HD format will be carried out throughout Azerbaijan.

The terms of launching mobile application of Turkish payment system in Azerbaijan were announced this week. Thus, Turkish payment system Turan Teknoloji Anonim Şirketi (Turan) plans to launch mobile application "Turan App" in Azerbaijan in December.

According to Edgar Abdullayev, General Director of United Payment, the company is currently waiting to obtain a license in accordance with the law "On Payment Services and Payment Systems".

"After receiving a license to operate in Azerbaijan, we plan to launch money transfers from Azerbaijan to Türkiye as soon as possible, and it is envisaged to launch our mobile application in December this year," he stressed.

According to the Ministry of Finance, the creation of a modern and strong education system, which is one of the important factors determining the competitiveness of the economy, thus forming highly competitive human capital and introducing innovations, has been identified as one of the priorities of national expenditures for the nearest medium-term period.

The infrastructure of information and communication technologies (ICT) in educational institutions will be fundamentally developed, the use of ICT will be expanded, and mechanisms for financing all stages of startup development will be formed.
