Ali Abbasov, the Azerbaijani Communications and Information Technologies Minister, completed his visit to Lisbon at the invitation of the Portuguese government and the management of Microsoft Corp., Trend reports referring to a news release spread by the Communications Ministry on Monday.
The goal of the visit is to participate in the Forum of European heads and government in the information technologies -2006, held under support of Microsoft from 30 January to 3 February.
The Azerbaijani Minister met with the management of Microsoft, including, the top executives of the company on world regions. Attending the event was also Bill Gaits, the President of Microsoft. The sides discussed some issues on the state of the IT sphere
in Azerbaijan, at the special meeting, organized between Gaits and the representatives of the government.
The participants of the meeting highly appreciated the work done in information and communications technologies under the support of the Azerbaijani government.
The issues of perspective cooperation in communications were considered with Nikolay Vasiliyev, the Bulgarian State Administration and Administrative Reforms Minister, Juze Gago, the Portuguese Education, Technology and Science Minister, Lana Berova, the Czech Informatics Minister, Koyak Kayman, the Hungarian Informatics and Information Minister, Fuad Turavichin, the Science and Technologies Minister of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Jukhanim Turmen, the Finnish State Minister, Yanis Riers, the Latvian Minister on Electron Government.
