Azercell Stockholder TeliaSonera Makes Structural Changes

From January 2007, structural changes will take in TeliaSonera and the company will comprise of four business structures: mobile services, wideband services, integrated service and Business sphere-Eurasia, Trend reports quoting Azercell, where TeliaSonera possesses business participation.

At the expense of the changes, the Company will achieve significant development in the sphere of wide band and mobile services.

The new organization is created to increase the revenues and foster development. We believe that due to the changes, the sale will be realized in amount of $14,1 bln for a period of two years, the TeliaSonera President Andreas Igel said.

TeliaSonera Eurasia participates in the companies of Fintur, in Kazakhstan (Kcell), Azerbaijan (Azercell), Georgia (Geocell) and in Moldova (MoldCell). This business sphere is also responsible for the development of the stock activities of TeliaSonera in Russian MegaFon (44%) and Turkish Turkcell (37%).

The number of the employees of the Fintur Company equals 2,000, and the sales - $1,1 bln. This sphere is headed by the President of TeliaSonera Eurasia Erdal Durukan. Durukan has been the honorable consul of Azerbaijan in Sweden since 1998. Earlier he had created Azercell Telecom and headed it for a long time.
