The mobile operator of Azerbaijan, Azercell Telecom JV, has put into operation GPRS/MMS roaming service with China Mobile operator from Chinese People's Republic, Trend reports with reference to the Press-Service of the Company. This is the first GPRS/MMS roaming agreement with China.
Up today Azercell Telecom JV has signed the GPRS/MMS roaming agreement with 65 network operators from 31 countries.
Joint venture Azercell Telecom was established on January 19, 1996. Founders were Turkcell ГќletiГѕim Hizmetleri A. S. and Ministry of Communications of Azerbaijan Republic.
Azercell Telecom started its activities on December 15, 1996 offering subscribers mobile telecommunications services based on postpaid system. In 1998 prepaid system was launched with tariff package SimSim that was very successful. As the leader of the market and very dynamic company it's known as the trend setter in mobile telecommunications market in Azerbaijan applying new technologies and offering various tariff packages, products and services that are beyond the customer needs.
