Passenger traffic at Georgian airports increases

Georgian airports served 4.5 million passengers over 10 months of 2019, Trend reports citing Georgian Airports Association.

This is four percent more than in the same period last year when 4.3 million passengers were transported.

As of October, passenger flow growth was observed at all international and local airports except Tbilisi International Airport.

In October 2019, Tbilisi International Airport served 284,442 passengers, which is 15 percent less than in the same period last year (335,094 passengers).

The airport also reduced passenger costs by one percent over 10 months. From January through October 2019, the airport served 3.2 million passengers

Passenger traffic at Kutaisi International Airport increased by 44 percent in October 2019 to 89,232 passengers (62,000 passengers in 2018).

From January through October 2019, Kutaisi International Airport served 719,324 passengers, which is 40 percent more than a year earlier (512,386 passengers in 2018).

In October 2019, Batumi Airport served 47,536 passengers, which is 13 percent more than in the same period last year (41,980 passengers).

From January through October 2019, the number of passengers at Batumi International Airport increased by three percent compared to the same period in 2018, from 555,693 passengers to 571,629 passengers.

For 10 months, Georgian local Mestia Airport served 7,086 passengers, which is 15 percent more than last year (6,151 passengers. In October 2019, Mestia Airport served 852 passengers, which is 5 percent more than for the same period last year (810 passengers in 2018).

Ambrolauri local Airport served 1,669 passengers from January through October 2019, which is 17 percent more year-on-year (1,428 passengers in 2018). In October, Ambrolauri Airport served 222 passengers, which is 40 percent more than in the same period last year (159 passengers in 2018).

Over 10 months, the local airports of Georgia served 8,755 passengers, which is 16 percent more compared to the same period in 2018.
