Over 300 million manat ($176.4 million) have been invested in the construction of roads in Azerbaijan in 2019, Anar Najafli, the spokesperson of the State Agency of Azerbaijan Automobile Roads, told Trend.

Anar Najafli noted that the investments were allocated to the state agency, in accordance with the orders of the head of state.

"President Ilham Aliyev signed a number of orders on measures for the construction of roads," Najafli said.

"In January, five orders were signed on measures for the construction of roads Mingachevir station Mingachevir-Bahramtepe (137th kilometer)-Beylagan in the Beylagan district, Susay-Khinalig in the Guba district, Balakan-Gazbina-Ititala in Balakan district, Zardab-Garavalli in Zardab district, Karrar-Bahman-Boyuk Kangarli in the Kurdamir district."

The spokesperson noted that according to the orders, in total, 44.7 million manat ($26.2 million) were allocated to the state agency.

"In February 2019, the head of state signed orders on measures for the construction of the Mughanli-Ismayilli (30 km)-Tazakand-Aghbulag-Goshakand in the Ismayilli District, Govlar-Eyyublu-Alagol-Ibrahimahajili-Yanigli-Agajgala-Gochdara -Chobansighlag-Yoghunbulag-Saritala in the Tovuz district, Kolgishlag-Mirashalli-Ahmadaghali-Chirakhli in the Aghdam district, Gilazi-Khizi (28 km) -Tikhl in the Khizi district," Najafli said.

In this regard, in February, 11.85 million manat ($6.9 million) were allocated to the state agency in total.

"In the spring of 2019, orders were signed on the construction of the Hirkan-Mamusta-Siyavar roads, the reconstruction of roads in the Narimanov district of Baku, Bahramtapa-Gobaktala-Mahammadali-Imishli-Jafarli-Orujlu-Agamammadli in the Imishli district, Baku-Shamakhi -Yevlakh (12 km)-Hojasan, Ganja-Dashkasan (27 km)-Gushchu-Chovdar-Chaykand in the Dashkasan district, Kurd-Shahadat-Garabaglar-Ikinji Arabjabirli in the Goychay district, Shamkir-Zayam-Duyarli-Shishtapa-Bayramli in Shamkir district. Orders also envisaged the continuation of work on the reconstruction of roads in the territory of the Surakhani district of Baku, the construction of the Masalli-Kohna Alvada-Taza Alvada-Gullutapa-Amirturbe-Yeni Zuvand highway in the Masalli district, the construction of the Jibir-Khazra-Mujug-Sudur highway in the Gusar district, additional measures to continue reconstruction work on roads in the Sabail and Pirallahi districts of Baku, the construction of the Dash Salahli-Urkmezli-Damirchilar highway in the Gazakh district, Aghstafa - Yenigun-Khatai-Gachag Karam-Poylu-Khilkhina in the Aghstafa district, the Baku-Shamakhi-Yevlakh (88 km)-Arabgadim-Goydara highway in the Gobustan district, as well as measures to restore the bridges across the Ganjachay river in Ganja," he said.

According to the spokesperson,111.05 million manat ($65.3 million) were allocated to the state agency in the spring period.

"In the summer of 2019, the head of state signed orders on measures for the construction of the Garamaryam-Ismayilli-Shaki (27 kilometers)-Gushanja-Zoghallig in the Ismayilli district and the reconstruction of the 11-kilometer section of the Hojasan-Lokbatan road, the construction of the Bilasuvar-Bahramtepe (56 km) -Chayli-Baghbanlar-Aranli-Zahmatabad highway in the Bilasuvar district, the continuation of the reconstruction of roads in the Yasamal district of Baku, the construction of the Boyuk Amili-Bilikh-Amirvan highway in the Gabala district, the construction of Archivan-Artupa-Sanjaradi-Alasha-Zungulash road in the Astara district, Boyat-Bileyen-Hajilar-Garakhanli road in the Agjabadi district, Abakand-Kolani-Khalaj-Yenikand road in the Salyan district and Orta Gasil-Shordahna-Garagan-Shikhlar-Kukyal-Arab-Ikinji Aral road in the Agdash district," Najafli said.

According to Anar Najafli, 82.3 million manat ($48.4 million) were allocated to the state agency in the summer period.

"In the fall of 2019, the head of state signed orders on the construction of the Guba-Gusar (nine kilometers)-Alpay-Kurkun-Susay road in the Guba district, the improvement the road transport infrastructure in the Gabala district, the reconstruction of the Aghsu-Kurdamir-Bahramtapa (53 km)-Zardab highway, the overhaul of roads in the city of Khirdalan, the construction of the Baku-Shamakhi-Yevlakh (115th kilometer)-Gonagkand-Khamyali-Ikinji Chayli-Ikinji Jabani-Jabani road in the Shamakhi district," the spokesperson said.

According to him, 38.4 million manat ($22.5 million) were allocated to the state agency in the fall.

"In December, the head of state signed orders on the construction of roads in the Khazar district of Baku, as well as on additional measures in connection with the overhaul of the internal roads of the Yeni Surakhani settlement in the Surakhani district of Baku, the Binagadi district of Baku, as well as in the city of Khirdalan. Also, an orde was signed on the construction of the Khachmaz-Niyazoba-Abilyatag-Gargalig highway in the Khachmaz district," the spokesperson added.

According to him, 36.7 million manat ($21.5 million) were allocated to the state agency in December.

"The Ministry of Finance has been instructed to provide financing in the amount specified in the orders, the Ministry of Economy - to envisage the necessary financial resources specified in the order in the budget expenditures section of the state budget for 2020 to complete the reconstruction of this road, and the Cabinet of Ministers - to resolve issues arising from this order," Najafli added.
