Uzbekistan produced 75,635 cars in the first quarter of 2020, which is by 16,130 more than in the same period last year, Trend reports referring to the State Statistics Committee of Uzbekistan.
In comparison with the same period of 2019, production of cars increased by 1.3 times in the Uzbek car industry.
In the period from January through March 2020, the country produced 20,721 cars of Nexia brand (growth rate of 132.1 percent compared to the same period of 2019), 17,759 Cobalt cars (138.4 percent), 14,459 Gentra cars (138.5 percent), 12,970 Damas cars (125.3 percent), 8,256 Spark cars (173.4 percent) and 1,470 Labo cars (74.1 percent).
From January through March 2020, 312 buses were produced in the country, showing a decline of 21.6 percent over the same period in 2019. The largest production volume in 2020 was recorded in March, amounting to 176 buses.
The production of trucks amounted to 1,014. Compared to the corresponding period of 2019, the production volume decreased by 23.4 percent. In 2020, the greatest volume of production was observed in March (378 vehicles).
