Dutch Lumidea Engineering may invest in road infrastructure of Uzbekistan

Representatives of the Embassy of Uzbekistan in the Benelux countries (Belgium, the Netherlands, and Luxembourg) held a videoconference with representatives of Dutch company Lumidea Engineering, Trend reports citing Dunyo News Agency.

Lumidea Engineering is one of the leading companies in the Netherlands specializing in infrastructure projects. Its profile includes projects for housing, hospitals, roads and bridges. The company's services range from recruitment and selection to design and further project management.

Earlier, in September 2019, Lumidea Engineering signed an agreement with the administration of Khiva district, Khorezm region, for the construction of an asphalt plant for $15 million.

The company said during the videoconference that development of road infrastructure in Uzbekistan is becoming particularly attractive. The capital city and regions are actively engaged in construction and repair of roads with involvement of international organizations and private partners.

"In addition to the urban road infrastructure, the government of Uzbekistan pays attention to developing programs to improve the quality of roads between regions, the construction of modern road junctions, bridges, underground crossings, technical centers with video surveillance systems," said the company.

During the event, the head of Lumidea Engineering said that Harvelo company is also interested in implementing an investment project in Khorezm region. In particular, Harvelo is considering the possibility of creating a joint production facility for the production of bicycles. The preliminary amount of foreign direct investments may make up $2 million, the message said.
