By Tamilla Mammadova – Trend:

UKRFerry will resume regular traffic in the Georgian port of Poti from mid-September, Trend reports via the APM Terminals Poti.

The ferry UKRFerry runs between the ports of Ukraine, Bulgaria, Turkey, and Georgia.

According to APM Terminals, in parallel with the transportation of railway cars, trucks, cars, and containers, the ferry serves passengers from different countries of Eastern Europe to Georgia and vice versa.

"The ferry will start regular service from mid-September and will operate 6-8 flights a month in our port. We look forward to renewing our partnership with UKRFerry and look forward to a full and successful launch of this important logistics innovation for our customers," said Keld Mosgaard Christensen, CEO of APM Terminals Poti.

In April 2011, APM Terminals acquired the largest port in Georgia - the seaport of Poti, which has a multipurpose purpose. There are 15 berths in the port, where all types of cargo transportation are provided. The total length of the berths is 2,900 meters, where more than 20 harbor cranes are located.

More than $80 million has been invested in the port of Poti over the past nine years, according to APM Terminals.
