The project started at the beginning of this year and includes the handling of 4 different pieces of OOG cargo, out of which 3 will be handled by the end of September. The total weight of all three sets totals 560 tons. The heaviest unit, weighing 204 tons, was handled by Poti Sea Port last week.

“For the first time in the history of Georgian Ports, such massive OOG Cargo has been handled via mobile harbor cranes (MHC). High competency and customer orientation of our technical and operations teams, made it possible to change crane specifications and discharge equipment from the vessel synchronously with 2 MHCs. Initiatives and projects like this, comfort Port stakeholders to run their logistics solutions effectively and successfully,” the report said.

Prelaunch preparation, composing of several months of negotiations and decision-making processes, also encompassed technical changes made to the cranes' set-up. Corrections into the settings of Mobile Harbor Cranes were made internally by APM Terminals Poti Asset Maintenance Team, with the assistance and guidance from the German Crane Manufacturer, “Liebherr.”
