The revenues of the Iran’s North-West Railways Office increased by 442 percent from the beginning of the current Iranian year (March 20, 2020) to September 11, compared to the same period last Iranian year, said Head of General Office of Northwest Railways Ali Khodaei, Trend reports referring to the railway office’s website.
Khodaei stressed that the office's revenues amounted 518 billion rials (about $12.3 million) during the reporting period.
"The main reasons for the increase in revenue were the maximum use of existing potential, continuous contact with industrial centers, the acceleration of the loading and unloading process and so on," he added.
The director general noted that the transported goods were mainly iron ore concentrate, grain, animal products, pellets, paper dough, sulfur and etc.
Khodaei said that new contracts will be signed for the transportation of products in the near future.
