Ministers of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan discussed the importance of the earliest possible start of the implementation of the Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan railway part of the China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan railway project, Trend reports referring to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan.
The ministers discussed the state and prospects for the development of cooperation between Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan in the political, trade and economic, investment, transport and communication, water management and cultural and humanitarian spheres.
The parties stressed the importance of continuing to hold bilateral events, including the next round of the Uzbek-Kyrgyz Intergovernmental Commission and the Council of Plenipotentiaries of the border regions of the two countries.
The ministers also noted a common interest in increasing the volume of mutual trade and expanding its range, including products with high added value, medical and pharmaceutical products, and food.
The parties reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening bilateral ties in the fields of culture, education, science, art, tourism, sports and other spheres.
