New ferry service between Turkmenistan, Kazakhstan, Russia may be opened

A new regular ferry service on the route Turkmenbashi International Seaport (Turkmenistan) - Kuruk Seaport (Kazakhstan) - Port of Makhachkala (Dagestan, Russia) may open, Trend reports with reference to Turkmenportal information portal.

Technical and organizational measures are currently being carried out in the ports of Kuruk Seaport and Port of Makhachkala related to the opening of a new ferry line.

Makhachkala Commercial Sea Port and Turkmen Milli Logistics OJSC expressed their readiness to study the opening of the Turkmenbashi - Kuryk - Makhachkala ferry line.

Turkmenistan is working on developing transport cooperation with Kazakhstan and Russia.

Negotiations are underway to establish mutual communication with Aktau International Commercial Sea Port and Kuruk Seaport in Kazakhstan.

In addition, the issue of opening a logistics center in Russia's Astrakhan is being discussed, and the opening of a trading house of Turkmenistan in Kazan of Russia's Tatarstan is envisaged.

Also, a project is being drawn up for transport links with access to Russian ports in the Baltic Sea, and then to Europe along the route of the Caspian Sea – the Volga River.
