The volume of cargo transshipment through the seaports of Azerbaijan amounted to 766,000 tons in January 2021, which is 2.4 percent less compared to January 2020, Trend reports citing the reporting data of the State Statistical Committee of Azerbaijan.
According to the report, 98.3 percent of the total cargo volume fell on international transit cargo, which amounted to 753,300 tons.
The volume of cargo transshipment in transit grew by 1 percent year on year.
As of early February, there were 19,700 tons of cargo in the ports of Azerbaijan.
In 2019, the port of Baku recorded the highest rate in the last 28 years for the transshipment of containers and vehicles.
In 2020, the volume of cargo transshipment through the seaports of Azerbaijan amounted to 8.78 million tons, of which 8.18 million tons or 93.2 percent fell on international transit cargo, and 7.8 percent - local cargo.
