Cargo movements in Iran’s Qeshm port down

The volume of cargo loaded and unloaded in the Qeshm port of the Hormozgan Province (southern Iran) decreased by 19.5 percent in the last Iranian year (from March 20, 2020 through March 20, 2021), compared to the preceding Iranian year (from March 21, 2019 through March 19, 2020), Trend reports citing the statistics of Iranian Ports and Maritime Organization (PMO).

According to the statistics, a total of 5.77 million tons of cargo were loaded and unloaded in the port during last Iranian year. Of this, 2.91 million tons were loaded and 2.86 million tons were unloaded.

“In addition, 188,000 tons of cargo were exported and 26,500 tons were imported through the Qeshm port last Iranian year,” the statistics said.

Also, 2.71 million tons of cargo were loaded and 2.82 million tons were unloaded in the port for cabotage, the statistics said.

According to the statistics, 1,070 tons of cargo were loaded and 6,550 tons were unloaded in this port over last Iranian year for transshipment.

“Within last Iranian year, 7,860 tons of cargo were loaded and 53 tons were unloaded in the port for other purposes,” the statistics said.

So, 23,700 tons of essential products, 484 tons of metal products, 185,000 tons of construction and mining materials, 3,380 tons of equipment, vehicles and spare parts were loaded and unloaded in the Qeshm port in the last Iranian year, the statistics said.

According to the statistics, moreover, 5.42 million tons of small and assorted products, 10,500 tons of container products, 127,000 tons of crude oil and oil products were loaded and unloaded in the port during the reporting period.

Reportedly, a total of 123 million tons of goods were loaded and unloaded in Iranian ports last Iranian year. This is a decrease of 18.1 percent compared to the preceding year. So, 150 million tons of goods were loaded and unloaded in Iranian ports in the preceding year.
