New airlines are entering the Georgian market, said the Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia Natia Turnava, Trend reports via Georgian media.
She made the remark after the government session.
"Oman Air, an Arab carrier, will enter the country and launch flights several times a week. Also, from July, we will have Lufthansa's low-budget subsidiary company Eurowings, which will start operating Tbilisi-Dusseldorf flights several times a week. There is also a permanent demand from the existing airlines to increase the frequencies," Turnava said.
Turnava spoke about tourism flows from neighboring countries at a briefing after the government session.
"We have decided to open the land borders. Rail passenger traffic between Armenia and Georgia got restored. On June 15, the first train via Yerevan in the direction of Yerevan-Batumi-Tbilisi will operate," she noted.
