Uzbekistan to increase number of flights from Samarkand to Istanbul

Uzbekistan Airways will increase regular flights from Samarkand to Istanbul, Trend reports with reference to the press service of Uzbekistan Airways.

According to Uzbekistan Airways, regular flights between Istanbul and Samarkand will be restored from July this year.

It is noted that flights on Samarkand - Istanbul - Samarkand will be operated three times a week on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays.

Earlier, Uzbekistan Airways reported the restoration of regular flights from Urgench to Istanbul. According to Uzbekistan Airways, regular flights between Istanbul and Urgench will be restored from July 4 this year.

It is noted that flights on Urgench - Istanbul - Urgench will be operated once a week on Sundays.

In May, the Special Republican Commission for Preparation of a Program of Measures to prevent the spread of coronavirus in Uzbekistan reported that Uzbekistan suspended flights to Turkey and India until the epidemiological situation related to COVID-19 improves.

Thus, starting from May 10 all charter flights from Uzbekistan to India and Turkey were suspended until the epidemiological situation improved.

Also, the airports of Fergana, Urgench and Samarkand did not accept planes from Istanbul till June 1.

In addition, flights on the Tashkent-Istanbul route were reduced on a parity basis.
