Cargo movements in Iran’s Chabahar Port up

The volume of cargo loaded and unloaded in the Chabahar port of the Sistan and Baluchestan Province (south-eastern Iran) increased by 36 percent in the 3rd month of the current Iranian year (May 22 through June 21, 2021), compared to the 2nd month (April 21 through May 21, 2021), Trend reports the statistics of Iranian Ports and Maritime Organization (PMO).

According to the statistics, about 349,000 tons of cargo were loaded and unloaded in the Chabahar port in the third month. Of this, 4,450 tons were loaded and 344,000 tons were unloaded.

“Also, 2,800 tons of cargo were exported and 187,000 tons were imported through the Chabahar port over the reporting month,” the statistics said.

Furthermore, 126 tons of cargo were loaded and 4,490 tons were unloaded in the port for transit in the 3rd month, the statistics said.

According to the statistics, 152,000 tons of cargo were unloaded in the port for cabotage during the third month.

“At the same time, 1,520 tons of cargo were loaded in the port for other purposes,” the statistics said.

So, about 180,000 tons of essential products, 2,800 tons of construction and mining materials, 659 tons of equipment, vehicles and spare parts were loaded and unloaded in the Chabahar port in the 3rd month of the current Iranian year.

Moreover, 50 tons of leather products, clothing, fibers, paper and wood materials, 133 tons of small and assorted products, 12,100 tons of container products and 152,000 tons of crude oil and oil products were loaded and unloaded in this port within the mentioned month, according to the statistics.

As reported, about 11.5 million tons of cargo were loaded and unloaded in Iranian ports in the third month of the current Iranian year. Of this, 6.53 million tons were loaded and 4.93 million tons were unloaded. This is an increase of 9.4 percent compared to the same month last Iranian year.
