Iran Ministry of Road and Urban Development has provided about $809 million loan for supporting transportation companies affected by the pandemic, said the director-general of transportation office in the ministry.
"The government has paid advances until early August to transportation and railway sector that were deeply damaged by COVID-19 pandemic and to public transportation that includes truck and bus drivers," said Mohsen Sadeghi, Trend reports citing IRNA.
"So far 202,000 applicants have applied from transportation companies and drivers to obtain loans of which 155,000 applicants received advances," he added.
Sadeghi indicated about the latest applications for advances saying so far in aerial section that 31 files requesting for advances and 15 companies have so far received $523 million while in the field of railway 58 filed applied for loan and so far 23 companies received $54 million.
"We seek to accelerate the conditions for banks supportive loans to applicant companies," he noted.
